Name: Melynda Hutchings DNP RN-BC CEN 

Mini Biography:

Melynda Hutchings joined the UT Arlington College of Nursing faculty in 2013 as adjunct faculty and went full-time in 2015. I have taught both on-campus in BSN courses, Community, Capstone, Assessment, Medical-Surgical, and Intro. I have also taught in the Accelerated online BSN program in Capstone, Community, Med-Surg, Assessment, and Fundamentals. I have been an active coach with Instructional connection since 2009 serving as a Coordinating Coach in the online RN-BSN courses for Leadership and Management as well as coaching in Capstone, Vulnerable Populations, Legacy, and Health Assessment.  I am currently Lead faculty in Leadership and Management for the AO RN-BSN and Vulnerable Populations on campus for RN-BSN. 

Educational background:  I started as an LVN in 1989 and in 1990 obtained my associate degree from Paris Junior College. Bachelor of Science in Nursing was obtained from the University of Texas at Arlington, a Master of Science in Nursing, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Texas at Arlington. She also holds certifications in both Medical-Surgical and Emergency nursing. My bedside clinical experience includes Emergency, Trauma, Cardiac, Medical-Surgical. and Pediatric, I have also held leadership roles in all of these areas.

Professional Interests in addition to teaching: Community Nursing, Rural Health Care, and Poverty.
