Multi-factor Authentication Required
The University of Texas at Arlington enabled multi-factor authentication for faculty, staff, students, and affiliates accessing systems from off campus locations, which also includes student housing. These systems include, but are not limited to, email, Office 365 accounts, Canvas, and MyMav. Multi-factor authentication, often used by other financial institutions and organizations, increases access security by using a secondary authentication such as a phone call, text message, or the mobile phone app. Please read below for additional instructions on how to set-up multi-factor authentication on your mobile device.
We recommend using the Mobile App authentication option. Since the app only needs a network data connection, whether from your cell provider or WiFi, you do not need to worry about receiving a phone call or text (SMS) message. If you have already set up your MFA you can follow the steps on the Managing your devices through Microsoft Authenticator Links to an external site. article to change your authentication from call or text to the Mobile App.
